How could I generate new leads?
That’s a great question—especially since 61% of content marketers consider generating traffic and leads one of their top challenges. A quick rundown of what lead generation techniques work and those that wouldn’t be a useful reference to have.
However, I have to emphasize that while there are a lot of effective strategies for lead generation—some of which I’m happy to share below—remember that every business is different. What works for me and my company may deliver different results for you. So, as always, I encourage you to get to know your audience well to find the most relevant lead generation techniques for you. Test, track metrics, and evolve your techniques to get the best results.
That said, here are some strategies that have proven to be very effective for me and a lot of my clients.
1. Make Sure Your Web Pages Are Optimized for Conversions
Lead generation efforts start with your website. You want people who end up on your website to be convinced to sign up for your newsletter, subscribe, or click yes—basically take positive action so you can seamlessly take them through your conversion process.
How do you do this? By paying attention to your copy and design; making sure key elements for conversion are present on your page and the various elements work together to deliver real results.
2. Engage Your Leads Directly
Customer engagement should always be one of your top priorities. Most brands attend to customers only when they have the extra time to do so. However, I’ve learned through all my years in content marketing that doing this a keyway to turn prospects into leads.
Adding key features like live chat, active forums, help centres, and access to customer service representatives from your company can ensure your leads and customers have their questions answered and their concerns addressed. This will help you turn leads into customers and customers into repeat business.
3. Take the Time to Develop and Optimize Your Content
Content is a great source of web traffic. The more traffic you get, the more leads you can potentially generate. However, this will largely depend on the quality of the content that you create and use to draw your target audience in.
Make sure your content is relevant to your audience, well written, and addresses a need. This will attract traffic and generate leads. Be sure to add images, videos, and infographics to make your content more interesting and engaging.
4. Be Creative and Explore Other Marketing Channels
There are numerous other ways you can put your product and service front and centre so you can generate more leads for your business. For instance, simply answering a question here, on Quora, could help introduce your business to a new audience. Commenting on other blogs is another way to generate leads, especially if you take the time to comment thoughtfully and comprehensively. Guest blogs are also helpful for generating leads, particularly if you manage to find a blog with a significant following that’s well regarded by your target audience.
Give these four things a try. They’re easy enough to implement and can deliver immediate results. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me via Leadspanda and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
