How do you find guest posting opportunities on authority websites?

The benefits of guest posting for your overall content strategy cannot be overstated. For starters, it helps drive traffic to your site and build powerful backlinks that raise your search engine profile and overall credibility. While there are content development guidelines and benchmarks that should be strictly followed, doing so means you have at your disposal an effective and reliable link building strategy that you can use.

The key here is finding guest posting opportunities on high authority websites. As a content marketer, I’ve come across my fair share of strategies and techniques on how to find guest posting opportunities. Here are some that I’ve tried that I’d love to share with you:

1. Explore Facebook Groups

Facebook groups can be a goldmine for potential collaborators and partnerships. A quick search can easily pull up groups that share the same interests or are relevant to your specific niche. All you have to do is be willing to reach out to them and make your pitch. Be sure to indicate your interest in contributing to their site and you’ll likely be directed to an editor who can give you further instructions on what you can do to get published on their website.

2. List Down Blogs In Your Niche

It’s important to get organized if you want to start doing blog outreach. Start by creating a list of blogs in your niche and reach out to them one by one. Each site will likely have guest posting guidelines that make it easier for you to understand what your requirements as a contributor will be.

3. Run A Quick Google Search

This is something that content marketers often forget, but sometimes, the quickest way to find guest posting opportunities is to simply run a search for relevant websites. Simply type in “your niche + blogs” you’ll likely get a running list of relevant blogs in your industry. Once you’ve narrowed the list down to sites that you’re interested in, start reaching out and approaching them for the possibility of contributing to their website.

4. Try Guest Blog Post Communities

There are specific online communities specifically built to connect websites with guest writers. It’s unlikely that you’ll find major websites on these sites, but it’s a great place to find niche blogs and websites that share the same audience and interests. Check out the following sites and sign up for them to get started–My Blog Guest and Linknami.

5. Check Out Blog Directories

Blog directories such as Alltop give you a rundown of top and high traffic blogs in your industry. Again, not all who appear on these lists are willing to accept contributing writers for blog posts. However, when you have a handy reference of what these sites are, it’s easy to get in touch and figure out which ones do. Because they’re on these blog directories, it’s highly likely that these are high-ranking websites that can drive major traffic to your site should you be allowed to write for them.

There you have it. Hope my answer helps! If you have any questions, head over to our Twitter or  LinkedIn to continue the conversation or leave a comment below.
