What are some strong examples of digital marketing case studies?

Case studies not only demonstrate the expertise and creativity that marketing companies have provided for particular brand campaigns; they’re also effective in showcasing unique marketing skills and attracting clients.

There are different ways to approach writing and developing a case study. I’m partial to focusing on results and keeping it brief, with the aim of delivering as many useful facts and stats as possible in easy-to-consume-and-comprehend bite-sized pieces. If you want to create your own case studies and start leveraging the opportunities they can bring to your business, I suggest reading up on well-written examples of what an effective and strategic case study looks like.

Here’s a selection:

1. 3P Creative Agency and Hubspot

This is a great example of how Hubspot helped a digital agency boost their leads and improve their inbound marketing strategy for real, measurable results. The results are impressive. Website traffic increased by nearly 1000%; there was a significant boost in organic traffic and a highly-impressive growth in leads that led to an 80% increase of new retainers.

The entire case study is anchored in real statistics and supported by concrete examples of how key challenges and roadblocks were addressed. The study is also transparent about how success was measured, with actionable points discussed in comprehensive detail to understand how companies can succeed with content marketing.

2. DocuSign and Marketing Sherpa

This is a more straightforwardly presented case study, lacking fancy layout or embedded visuals and multimedia. Nevertheless, it presents an effective strategy. It highlights the key platforms content marketers rely on and effectively demonstrates how the overall strategy helped the brand build awareness amongst a very niche audience.

Particularly clever here is how the brand achieved their goals via LinkedIn. It’s a great example of what’s possible to achieve when leveraging social media platforms.

3. AT&T and Mark Schaefer

This case study looks at how a major telecommunication company, with the help of a prominent content marketing influencer, implemented a strategy intended to target specific audiences. The result? A very impressive $47 million worth of new business in a span of just 18 months.

The case study recounts the details of their strategy through storytelling, which works to engage and hold the attention of readers while still sharing the facts and figures behind the strategy.

Give these three case studies a careful read. Take down notes on interesting and insightful details that stand out to you. Use them to review your own marketing needs and see how some of the strategies could be applied in the case of your own business.
