What are the best content marketing blogs?

Working in the content marketing industry means constantly staying on top of the newest trends, latest news, and recent technologies meant to improve current techniques and get you better results. Educating yourself is important to consistently understand the changes and nuances of content marketing as it evolves. Through the years, I have found that these blogs are some of the most informative sources:

1. Content Marketing Institute (CMI)

This is one of my go-to sites. It’s run by one of the pioneers of content marketing—Joe Pulizzi. I love checking out CMI for its insightful take on industry trends, comprehensive collection of how-to guides, and numerous references that can be used by both content marketing newbies and veterans alike.

2. Seth’s Blog

Seth’s blog is run by another big name in the content marketing industry, Seth Godin. His site is distinctive primarily because it’s short and concise—but always insightful. I’m a big fan of his approach, which is unconventional but effective. If there’s one key takeaway I would have about his work, it’s the importance of curating your voice to create a distinctive persona that is uniquely you. It’s important to cultivate this voice as a content marketer. This will allow you to write better and eventually build better rapport with your core audience.

3. Copyblogger

For all things copy-related, a blog written with experience and from the perspective of a writer is always best. Copyblogger is my top pick, and it covers a lot: persuasive writing techniques, dealing with writer’s block, basic copywriting, effective marketing, and so much more.

4. The Moz Blog

The Moz Blog combines material from all the industry’s top content marketing names and gurus in a single blog, with the intent of helping content marketers improve their approach to content marketing. This makes it a great resource for everything from SEO to backlinking; keyword research to improving general marketing strategies.

5. Hubspot

Hubspot’s writing can be long-winded. However, it covers a lot of topics in the content marketing industry and serves as an excellent resource for new strategies and ideas. I would advise you to start reading Hubspot once you already have a bit of content marketing background to fully maximize the insights and tips they offer. A lot of the posts are heavy on jargon and require a bit of technical understanding of common content marketing techniques. However, it’s still a great repository of relevant blogs that you can apply to your own content marketing efforts.

Hope my answers help! But before I wrap this up, I’d like to throw my company’s blog into the ring—it’s my effort to help content marketers out there navigate this industry of ours and my way of sharing the trends and techniques that have helped me establish my footing in this business through the years. Check it out if you have time and let me know what you think.
