What is your opinion of guest posting?

I think guest blogging is one of the best and most often underutilized content marketing strategies that you can invest time and effort in.

Through guest blogging, you can communicate your brand’s core message and even earn the trust of a new audience. Here are some additional perks of guest posting.

1. Get instant exposure to targeted traffic

Contributing to other blogs means you can present your ideas to a new pool of readers. Remember that traffic is the lifeblood of content marketing, and something as simple as a guest blog post can easily translate to conversions if you do it the right way.

Because you’re contributing to a site that is related to what you do or sell, you know that this is an audience that is at least familiar with your subject matter. That makes the possibility of this new audience converting much higher.

2. Expand your personal network

Submitting guest posts can help foster stronger ties to influencers and personalities in your space. In some cases, it allows you to forge partnerships that can prove to be very beneficial to the promotion of your business.

If you do submit a guest post and it gets published, be sure to answer comments and questions to boost engagement as it can help you expand your personal network.

3. Grow your social media following

Growing your followers across your social media platforms is a great way to boost lead generation efforts. Guest posting helps. Most guest blog posts allow you to include relevant links to your online properties. Make sure to include links to your social media platforms and make it easy for new readers to click on them so they can hit follow.

4. Boost online authority

Building your online authority is critical in modern content marketing. By contributing guest posts to other high profile and high authority blogs, you’re essentially building your credibility as a go-to information source. Search engines will recognize your authority and rank you higher on searches, and audiences will start to recognize you as a credible resource and trustworthy site.

5. Strengthen your backlink profile

Guest posts allow you to add a couple of backlinks to your own site or blog. When you do, it adds to your credibility as a website. More backlinks to high authority sites make your content more discoverable and indexable, especially for searches within your niche.

6. Get more insightful feedback from the community

Feedback is critical to your success as a content marketer. As a guest blogger, you’re able to reach a new audience with shared interests, which means you gain a new perspective on what you do. You can ask to share their ideas, thoughts, and opinions about the topic and use the data you get to refine your approach to content marketing. Ask them to comment and invite them to share their opinions on your post.
