Where are places you can post your marketing blog material?
If you’re in the business of online marketing, then a lot of your time is spent creating content—blogs, specifically. It’s also likely that you rely on your website to publish these blogs.
The thing is, I personally believe that there are a lot more places that you can publish your blogs than just your website. Your website is a great place to start. However, you’re not maximizing all the effort you’ve put behind your content if you’re not also leveraging on the following platforms that can publish your content, or drive more readers back to your website:
1. Publishing Platforms
Lots of third party, publishing platforms such as Medium let you run your blog posts on their site to help boost your traffic on your own website. The platform makes it very easy for you to import your existing blog posts to their site and is now recognized as a great source of content from a very diverse range of topics.
2. Forums
Forums are a great platform to inspire and spur conversation, as well as engagement from users. The most popular one by far is Reddit, which features a ton of users across numerous topics and niches. It’s very likely that you can find a conversation going about your subject matter and can easily pitch your answers on the Subreddits.
However, be warned, if you intend to share an article using this platform, the article has to be very relevant and engaging to the conversation. Otherwise, you might simply get called out and banned from the platform.
3. Q&A Platforms
Q&A platforms like Quora are a great way to share your blog posts. My best advice is to tweak your content a bit to make your posts more conversational so it doesn’t look like you’re simply plugging your post on a question.
4. Social Media
Lots of social media platforms allow you to publish your blog posts and drive more traffic back to your website. Facebook is a great platform for this. You simply need a link and a great feature image, coupled with an engaging caption to engage users and you’re set.
LinkedIn is another platform that allows you to syndicate blog posts, and has a strong subscriber base. Given the growing volume of users who have started sharing their material on LinkedIn and a large existing network, the platform has proven to be a great way to maximize exposure of your blog posts.
Instagram, while mostly a visual platform, also has a lot of potential. Just make sure you have a great image. You can also try to entice and attract potential readers via the caption.
YouTube, a video platform, is also useful to drive readers to your blog post. Try creating a video of yourself or a team member discussing important points of your content. You can also try providing a brief summary of your post before sending audiences to your blog.
Finally, while it’s a little more challenging given it’s character limit, a thoughtfully written Twitter caption can definitely lead readers to your blog post and get you more traffic.
